Supporting the Digital Infrastructure for 112 California Community Colleges.

About Us

Funded by a grant from the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, the California Community Colleges Technology Center, hosted by Butte College, facilitates and coordinates the work of systemwide technology projects by:

  • providing project leadership
  • disbursing funds
  • managing contracts
  • developing external funding resources
  • providing LISTSERV® and Web site hosting services
  • and publicizing the progress of the projects

In addition to furthering CCC technology initiatives, the Technology Center funds the operations of CalREN, the California Research and Education Network. This fiber optic backbone connects the vast majority of the state's K-20 educational institutions.

Other intersegmental projects are also hosted by the Technology Center, such as:

  • the CSU Digital Marketplace, to make digital content readily assessable to instructors and students
  • the California Accelerated Pathways high school-to-college initiative with free AP level online courses to college-bound students
  • and the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) online English Language Arts and Mathematics course project to help give students who have failed their CAHSEE and left high school another chance to earn their diploma

The Technology Center deploys and maintains dedicated servers for various Learning Management Systems used in online teaching professional development across the system and regularly provides technical support for the statewide Online Teaching Conference.
